Sugar Free Horse Treats, Naturally Flavoured Rewards Made in Australia
Sugar free horse treats let you reward your horse or pony without the molasses and refined sugar found in most commercial treats. Ours are made in our HACCP-certified kitchen on the Sunshine Coast and flavoured with natural vegetables rather than added sweeteners, so a daily treat stays a small, sensible part of your horse's routine.
What "sugar free" means here
Our sugar free range contains no added molasses, no refined sugar, and no artificial sweeteners. Flavour comes from real ingredients like corn, carrot, beetroot and apple instead. It is worth being honest here: natural vegetables and fruit still carry some of their own sugars and starches, so "sugar free" describes what we leave out, not a zero-carbohydrate treat. For most healthy horses that distinction does not matter. For a horse with a metabolic condition, it matters a great deal, which is why the guidance below leans on your vet.
Who they suit
Owners reach for lower-sugar treats for horses on weight management programs, ponies that get fizzy on sugary feeds, and horses whose vets have asked them to watch dietary sugar and starch (often described as NSC, or non-structural carbohydrate). If your horse has a history of laminitis, equine metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance or Cushing's disease (PPID), please talk to your Australian vet before adding any treat, including ours. Even natural ingredients contribute sugars and starches, and your vet knows your horse's numbers. That conversation is the safest way to work out what, and how much, is appropriate.
What's in the range
- Sugar Free Veggie Horse Bix, bite-sized daily rewards flavoured with natural vegetables.
- 1kg bulk packs for stables and daily feeders.
- Calming options for float trips, farrier visits and other stressful moments (see our calming horse treats).
Feeding them sensibly
Treats are a reward, not a feed. A few bite-sized pieces a day is plenty for most horses, and less again for ponies watching their waistline. If you use treats for training, our small horse training treats are designed for frequent, low-fuss rewarding. For the full picture on treating at-risk horses, our safe treats for laminitic horses guide walks through what to look for.
Every treat is Australian-made, naturally flavoured, and free from artificial colours and preservatives. Browse the sugar free horse treats below, or explore the wider horse treats range.
